YAL At CSI Plans to Debut with a Splash
This week at College of Staten Island, Young Americans for Liberty was officially recognized by the school as a student organization.
Chapter President Anthony Librera commented, "If you're looking for a club to be involved in that's going to be making a lot of moves this semester, look no further." CSI, while a fairly large campus, has very few active student groups that are overtly political, which gives YAL the opportunity to become a major player on campus.
The group kicked off the year by doing Operation Politically Homeless, a survey project to help students identify themselves politically, as conservatives, libertarians, or liberals. The vast majority of students surveyed at CSI discovered that they held largely libertarian views.
YAL at CSI is planning a large demonstration to commemorate Constitution Day during the school's Constitution Week on September 22. A "Visualize the Debt" event is also scheduled for September 27th, with many more events to come this year!
